(M4) Demonstrate how the exported media product meets the client brief

Image
I have exported my magazine as a PDF Print file. The quality of the print file is 700 DPI to keep the magazine looking modern and pleasing, rather than being blurry. I used this file as it is industry standard for printing, and maintains image quality whilst also being a very easy file type to load. PDF files can also be lossy or lossless compression, which means that it can be perfect for whatever use, whether it is being on a website or being printed at national scale. I converted and exported the magazine using indesign, as the software already has the option of exporting as a PDF. This means that I can update the changes I make to the final export and then re-export it with ease as the file format will always stay the same. I also exported another file, which was in the Indesign file format. This creates a live file that I can open and edit whenever I need to. So, for example,

(P5) Carry out post-production techniques and processes to produce a final original media product in line to the client brief

Image
In order to maintain magazine conventions on my front cover, I used certain fonts, photos and graphics to make sure that the page i created is not only as realistic as possible, but would also be an ideal product for a client. I used industry standard software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom and InDesign to draft and create the final designs that I have exported. 1 I started off by picking a photo that I had taken in my photoshoot which would fit the theme and style of a front page cover. I chose a photo where the subject, the car, is in central frame. This makes sure that I have an established theme, as well as equal space around the photo to add text. I chose this type of image so that I could maintain a clean yet interesting design whilst also being visually pleasing. 2 After this, I added in my masthead to see if it would fit the style of my photo. Initially, I used a light grey for the masthead, but it blended with the sky which almost made it illegible, so I tried...

(D1) Analyse how post-production techniques and processes create meaning in the media product to meet the client brief

Image
The purpose of my magazine is to provide entertainment and information to my target audience. This is achieved through images and text, as well as some colloquialisms for a British magazine and the type of person that would read the magazine. My magazine is also intended to create a modern style in a vehicle magazine, as well as maintaining the standards and conventions of the theme. To do this, I am using modern colours such as whites and greys, as well as some vibrant pops of red and yellow. I also used PNG photos in my magazine, as this is a very modern technique to make images stand out within a magazine page. Graphics -  The graphics I have used in my magazine include text, my logo, slogans and PNG images that I have used purposefully in the double page spread. This is my Masthead/Title, I created this graphic in adobe illustrator using the sherman font from dafont.com.  I created the design of the speedometer by using a circle with an outline, and using the scissors tool...

(M3) Create production material that follows the codes and conventions of the chosen genre for the media product

Image
In this post I am going to include the assets I created for my magazine. I will compare and contrast them to the assets used in other magazines of the same genre. I will compare my initial, RAW photos to the edited version  Mastheads -  To create my masthead, I first looked online at the most popular motoring magazines and found the most common themes of masthead and the certain types of design that these mastheads have used. Car Magazine I first looked at Car magazine's masthead. This masthead uses a serif font which is extremely bold. This masthead is a very good example as it stands out amongst an otherwise cluttered page. This ensures that the name of the magazine would not be missed on a vibrant front cover, which helps the magazine's overall success. However, I think the only reason this masthead could be so simple is that the name of the magazine is exactly what it entails, therefore it would be obvious to the reader. Top Gear Magazine I next looked at Top Gear's Mag...

(P4) Create production materials to be used in the original media product

In this post I will be creating and evaluating production materials that I will be using in the final presentation and final creation of my magazine. Here I will explain how and why I have done certain things in the creation process. Equipment List -  Contact Sheet II (3 sheets) -  Final Magazine Photos -
