(M2) Legal and ethical issues are identified and resolved for the planned production

I have created the post to discuss and explain the legal and ethical constraints I will need to bear in mind whilst creating my magazine. I will explain how these laws affect me and how I can stay within them and make sure my magazine does not break any fundamental rules, laws and does not offend anyone. Regulatory Bodies -  IPSO (Independent Press Standards Organisation) -  IPSO is the regulatory body that regulates things such as newspaper and magazine (print). This means that all of the magazine companies must have their magazines looked at by IPSO before they are produced publicly. This covers things such as images, and how they are presented. This will remove any inappropriate images or text that is present in the magazine. This will also cover issues such as copyright and misrepresentation and make sure that everything in the magazine is fair and true. Legal Issues -  Legal issues are an extremely important factor in creating a magazine. These issues are instated by...

(P3) Develop pre-production materials for an original media product

Image
This post is to show the pre-production materials I have created, and explain how they reflect my style. I will link these documents to my production and editing of the magazine. I am using and highlighting skills that I have gained from Unit 2 (Pre-production and planning), and showing these skills throughout the pre-production process. Masthead -  Contents Page -  Double Page Spread -  Fonts Examples -  These are the fonts that I will consider and use for my magazine. The fonts are conveying a modern style that I am wanting to achieve for the theme of the magazine, as it is a modern, up to date motoring magazine about new cars and releases. Production Schedule -  Risk Assessment -  Location Recce -

(P2) Create Sample Materials to Support the Proposal

Mood Board -  This is the mood board I created to capture the theme I want to achieve with my magazine. I have taken inspiration from other magazines of the same theme in the market. I have included some of these magazines in the top left of the screen. I am going for a modern/retro-modern style with the magazine, which is reflected in my font choices. The images I have used also reflect the stylish imagery style that I want to achieve in my magazine. I am going for a red and blue colour scheme. I think this will work extremely well as these colours are often associated with racing and motorsport, as they are 'redline' style colours. They are also very complimentary of each other, and work extremely well together. This colour scheme will also stand out more than other magazines that use a white or black colour scheme, as they have much lower levels of contrast, which is less likely to attract an audience. This means my magazine will stand out positively compared to others. M...

(M1) Justify Content, Distribution and Marketing Methods Identified for the Planned Production to meet a Client Brief

Content -  In my magazine, I am going to include certain types of content to branch out to my selected and preferred target audience. This means that I can get a more positive response from a target audience. The content and assets that I use will directly link to my target audience's needs and preferences. For example, I will use images to keep and audience captivated in the magazine, whilst also creating something for the text beside the image to link to.  Reviews -  In my magazine, I am going to include reviews as a form of content. This will be reviews of interesting cars from current day to around the 1960's. This will be interesting to my target audience as they will be interested in the specifications of the car, and the opinions I have on it.  This will also cover the new release models of cars, and the reviews will be based on looks, and facts that I can find about the vehicle. I can also take information from people who have driven them. I will do this thro...

(P1) Produce a Proposal for the Original Media Product to Meet the Client Brief

Image
The purpose of this document is to create and group ideas for a new magazine that I will create with a certain theme. I will create a client brief and a target audience profile sheet to define my audience. I will then assess competitors in the franchise and discuss how what I create will follow the same conventions, but will have unique aspects. Purpose -  The purpose of my magazine will be to  entertain  an audience. This means that I will need to use engaging and interesting text and facts. This also means that I would use text and speech within the magazine in a more friendly and comedic style, rather than formal. This means that the magazine would be more interesting to my specific target audience, which is a younger more modern audience that have a huge interest in cars and motorsport. Making the purpose of my advertisement to entertain is also a positive for me as it means that I have a better chance of fitting my chosen target audience. One of the interests of my a...
